How to Install FygoOS on a Virtual Machine?
This article introduces how to install FygoOS on a virtual machine. The virtual machine installation uses the PVE system as an example, and briefly shows the specific steps for installing FygoOS. If you need to maximize virtual machine performance and achieve optimal performance, or if you need passthrough settings for PVE, ESXi, and similar systems, refer to more detailed tutorials for the corresponding virtual machine platform.
PVE Tutorial
1. Configure the Virtual Machine in PVE
- Install PVE first.

- Upload the image file.

- When you see the "TASK OK" prompt, the upload is complete and you can close the window.

- Click Create VM in the upper-right corner, enter the required virtual machine name, and select the image you just uploaded.

- You can keep the default settings in the System step.

- In the next step, configure the disk and enter the size. You can customize it based on the remaining allocatable space.

- In the next step, configure the CPU. Allocate the number of cores based on the host machine. At least 2 cores are recommended. For the type, it is recommended to scroll to the bottom and select host, because this has the smallest impact on CPU performance under PVE virtualization.

- In the next step, configure memory. Allocate memory as needed based on the host machine's memory size. 2 GB or more is recommended.

- In the next step, configure network and uncheck the firewall option.

- Final confirmation.

2. Install FygoOS on PVE
- After creation, select the virtual machine you just created, click Console, and click Start Now in the right-side window.

- After waiting a few seconds for startup, the installation screen appears.

- Select the disk you just allocated as the system disk, then click Next.

- After confirming, enter the installation process and wait for the system installation to complete.

- After configuring the network environment, the system automatically restarts into the installed FygoOS system.

-
At this point, FygoOS has been installed on the virtual machine. You can go to the web interface and enter the IP address to log in.
-
You can do one additional step after installation: it is recommended to delete the previous installation ISO image file. Select it and click Remove.
