  • How to Back Up Phone Photos?

    Using the Photo Backup feature in the Fygo App, you can back up photos from your phone to Fygo NAS to save phone storage space.

    Prerequisites:

    1. Make sure the Fygo Photos app is installed;
    2. Make sure the backup location has sufficient storage space. If not, please change the backup location;
    3. Download and install the Fygo App, then connect to Fygo NAS;
    4. Grant the Fygo App permission to access local photos or files on your phone.

    Steps

    1. Open the Fygo App > Photos > Settings > Backup Settings;

    2. Enable the Auto Photo Backup toggle. After enabling, you can view the Backup Status. Below are the status descriptions:

      Backup Status descriptions:

      1. Scanning: Scanning the number and size of photos and videos on the phone, preparing for backup upload. If Back Up Photos Only is enabled, the scan will ignore local videos and only count and scan photos.
      2. Backing Up: Backup upload is in progress, showing the remaining count and completed count.
      3. Backup Successful: The backup session is complete, either fully successful or partially failed. If partially failed, tap the Backup Status bar to go to Transfer Tasks for detailed error information.
      4. Backup Paused or Failed: If photo backup is paused or failed, the following reasons may apply:
        • Low battery: If Power Saving Backup is enabled, backup will pause when the phone battery is below 15%.
        • Wi-Fi not enabled: If Use Mobile Data for Backup is not enabled, backup will pause in non-Wi-Fi environments. It is recommended to enable this when you have sufficient data.
        • Connection lost: If the network environment changes and the connection to Fygo NAS is lost, backup will pause. Please reconnect and try again.
        • Insufficient storage: If the backup location does not have enough space for the current backup task, the backup will fail. Please change the location in the web version of Fygo Photos.
        • No storage permission: If photo backup fails due to insufficient storage permissions, your storage permissions may have been changed by the admin. Please contact the admin.
    3. If you disable backup during the process, pending and queued backup tasks will be canceled, but already backed-up photos and videos will be retained.

    Backup Rules

    Before starting backup, you can choose from the following 2 backup rules:

    • Back Up All: Scans and backs up all photos and videos on the device. Already backed-up photos will be skipped to avoid duplicates.
    • Back Up New Photos: Only backs up photos and videos taken from now on.

    After toggling backup on/off, you can choose Continue Backup:

    Continue Backup will continue based on the previous backup rule:

    • Continue backing up all: Continues backing up all photos and videos that have not been backed up
    • Continue backing up new photos: Continues backing up photos and videos taken since the last backup

    Keep Screen On During Backup

    After enabling backup, if you need to back up a large number of photos and videos, you can enable Keep Screen On During Backup to allow Fygo Photos to continue uploading in the background with the screen dimmed until complete.

    To maintain Keep Screen On During Backup, please note:

    • Maintain a stable network connection
    • Keep the device charging
    • Do not turn off the phone screen or exit the App

    Other Backup Settings

    Rename by Capture Date: When uploading or backing up, files are renamed in the format "IMG_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS" based on the capture date. This prevents loss of capture time information during file transfer.

    Sync Album Creation: When uploading or backing up, albums are automatically created in Fygo Photos based on existing phone albums, and photos are added to the corresponding albums.
