  • How to create Fygo TV accounts for family and friends?

Fygo TV accounts and NAS accounts are two independent user systems. Similar to how a website allows registration with a phone number or direct login via WeChat, the NAS account serves a role similar to OAuth here. Specifically:

    • If a friend only needs to use Fygo TV and does not need other NAS features, you only need to create a Fygo TV standalone account for them;
    • If a family member needs to use file storage, Fygo Photos, Fygo TV, and other NAS features, create a NAS account for them. They can directly log in to Fygo TV with their NAS account without remembering two sets of credentials.

    1. Fygo TV standalone account

    1. How to create?

Log in to Fygo TV with an admin account, click the top-right corner > Settings > Fygo TV Server - Users > Add User to open the Add User dialog.

Set the username and password, and select the libraries the user can access. Click Confirm to save.

    2. How to log in?

    2. Log in with a NAS account

    1. Which NAS users can access Fygo TV?

After Fygo TV is installed, by default all NAS users will have the Fygo TV app icon on their desktop. You can change this so that only admins can open Fygo TV from the desktop. To change this:

    1. Log in with a NAS admin account, open System Settings > Apps > Fygo TV
    2. Set Desktop Access to: Admin Only
    3. Click Confirm to save

Note: This setting only controls whether the app icon is displayed on the desktop. It cannot prevent users from accessing Fygo TV by appending /v to the NAS address in a browser.

    2. How to log in with a NAS account?

    3. Which libraries can NAS account users access?

Except for the Fygo TV admin, other users who log in with a NAS account may see a message "No accessible libraries, please contact the admin" when entering the Fygo TV home page. This is because new users who log in with a NAS account do not have access to any library by default.

You can change this default setting:

    1. Log in to Fygo TV with an admin account, click Top-right corner > Settings > Fygo TV Server - Users > New User Default Permission
    2. Select the accessible library scope
    3. Click Confirm to save

Note: This setting affects the library scope that other NAS users can access when they first register and log in to Fygo TV. Each user's permissions can be customized individually.
