How to install Fygo TV and create a library?
Fygo TV is an official media application developed by Fygo that helps you easily set up a media server and share it with family and friends. You can install it from the App Center and start using it after completing a simple initial setup.
1. Installation
1. Install Fygo TV from App Center
Log in with an admin account, open App Center, find Fygo TV, and click Install.

2. Confirm installation location
Fygo TV will be installed on the system partition by default. The Folder Storage Location specifies which volume the scraped metadata and downloaded subtitles will be saved to by default. This can be changed later in the Fygo TV app. After confirming, click Confirm to start the installation.

3. Installation complete
After installation, the Fygo TV app icon appears on the desktop.

2. Set accessible file scope for Fygo TV
On FygoOS, Fygo TV is an application that can be made available to non-NAS users. The user permissions within the app are independent of NAS permissions. For data security purposes, you need to manually specify the file access scope that Fygo TV can read and write on the NAS. Here is how to set it up:
1. Settings entry
In System Settings > Apps, find Fygo TV and open it.

2. Add folders
Click + Folder to open the file picker.

The available file scope includes:
- My Files: Files of the current user
- Team Folder: Files in team folders
- Volume: Includes all files under the volume, including user files, team files, and app files
- External Storage: Connected USB drives or external hard drives
- Remote Mount: Files from remote devices or cloud drives mounted to the NAS
After selecting, click Select to confirm. You can add multiple folders.

3. Set Read/Write permissions
To fully use Fygo TV features, set the folder permission to Read/Write. For remotely mounted devices and cloud drives, Fygo may not be able to modify their permissions due to their file systems, but this does not affect usage.
4. Save settings
Click Confirm to save the settings. If you see an error about an invalid path, please refer to Cannot select a folder when creating a library? for troubleshooting.
3. Fygo TV initialization
1. Open Fygo TV
After installing Fygo TV from the App Center, you can access it in the following ways:
- Open from the Fygo TV app icon on the web desktop or from the Fygo App home page
- Access directly via browser by appending /v to the NAS address

2. Authorize login with a NAS account
Click Get Started to open the NAS authorization login page. Please authorize with a NAS admin account. This step ensures that only the NAS admin can become the Fygo TV admin and manage the Fygo TV application.

3. Create Admin Account
Set the username and password for the Fygo TV admin. Fygo TV currently supports only one admin. This admin account will be automatically linked to the NAS admin account authorized in the previous step.

Note:
Fygo TV accounts and NAS accounts are two independent user systems. Similar to how a website allows registration with a phone number or direct login via WeChat, the NAS account serves a role similar to OAuth here. Specifically:
- If a friend only needs to use Fygo TV and does not need other NAS features, you only need to create a Fygo TV account for them;
- If a family member needs to use file storage, Fygo Photos, Fygo TV, and other NAS features, create a NAS account for them. They can directly log in to Fygo TV with their NAS account without remembering two sets of credentials.
4. Server Settings
Server Name: Set a personalized name to easily identify the server when scanning the LAN from the App or TV.
Preferred Language: Used as the default option for language-related settings, such as subtitle language. This can be changed individually in each library's settings.
Real-time Media File Monitoring: When enabled, the library will automatically update when media files are added or changed. Fygo TV uses a file change monitoring mechanism that actively pushes updates when files change, rather than frequently checking, so it will not affect hard drive sleep. Feel free to enable this option.

Click Confirm to enter the Fygo TV homepage. The initialization is now complete.

4. Create Library
In the initial state, click Create Library, or go to the top-right corner > Settings > Create Library to open the Create Library dialog.

1. Library basic information
Content Type: The type distinction is only for your convenience in managing multiple libraries and does not affect metadata scraping. Selecting "Other Videos" will not scrape metadata from the internet, but will still recognize local NFO files. The content type cannot be changed after the library is created.

2. Media folders
Click the + button to open the file picker. The available folders are those that the Fygo TV app has permission to access. If the folder you want to select is not displayed, please refer to Cannot select a folder when creating a library? to set access permissions.

3. Advanced settings
Prefer Local NFO and Images: Prefer information from local NFO files and images in the local directory, and only fetch missing information from the internet.
Metadata Download Language: Specifies the preferred language for searching and scraping metadata, including movie titles, descriptions, posters, and cast information.
Allow Adult Content in Metadata: Specifies whether to allow scraping adult content when automatically fetching metadata from third-party public databases. This toggle is off by default and must be manually enabled.
Note:
Whether content is classified as adult is determined by TMDB's adult tag. Even with the Allow Adult Content in Metadata toggle turned off, if a file name matches an adult movie on TMDB, adult information may still be scraped. This is because some movies on TMDB are actually adult content but are not tagged as such, and Fygo TV cannot filter them out.
Automatic Subtitle Downloads: When enabled, subtitles will be automatically searched and downloaded from the internet when media files without built-in subtitle tracks are added.

4. Creation successful, automatic scan and scraping
After successful creation, the library will automatically start scanning. The initial scan includes file identification, metadata scraping, built-in subtitle recognition, and subtitle search and download, which may take some time.
