How to share My Files with other users?

On FygoOS, you can share folders in My Files with other users on the device. Recipients can access these files from Files > Shared with Me.

If the files are in a Team Folder, administrators should manage them through team folder member permissions. For details, see How to share a Team Folder?.

How to share My Files with others?

The following uses the web interface as an example.

Open Files > My Files. Select the folder you want to share, right-click it, and click Share on This Device.

On the left side, select the users or groups to share with. You can search by name or note.

On the right side, select the recipient's access permission. You can choose Read Only, Read/Write, No Access, or Custom. Click OK.

Permission descriptions:

• Read Only: The recipient can view or download files, but cannot modify them.
• Read/Write: The recipient can view, upload, edit, or delete files. The actual available operations depend on the final ACL permissions.
• No Access: The recipient cannot access the folder. This permission is often used to restrict access to some subfolders or files when the parent folder has already been shared.
• Custom: Customize a combination from 13 granular permissions, such as allowing edits but not deletion.

The first 3 basic permission combinations are applied to this folder, its subfolders, and its files by default, and continue to propagate to new child items. To change the scope, choose Custom permissions.

Set the share name that recipients will see. The default is the folder name. After confirming, click Enable Sharing.

Sharing has been set up successfully.

How to modify sharing permissions?

Open Files > Shared by Me. Find the shared folder you want to modify, right-click it, and click Sharing Settings.

Modify permissions for existing objects, or add users or groups. Click Confirm to save.

How to disable sharing?

Open Files > Shared by Me. Find the shared folder you want to disable sharing for, right-click it, and click Sharing Settings. Click Disable Sharing.

After sharing is disabled, other users can no longer access the folder from Shared with Me. The system removes the explicit permissions created by sharing settings. If the folder still inherits related permissions from its parent folder, the inherited permissions are retained.

How can recipients access files shared with them?

Recipients can open Files > Shared with Me and find the sharer to view the folders shared with them.

If some subfiles or subfolders in a folder shared by others cannot be viewed, possible reasons include:

• The subfile or subfolder has been separately set to No Access.
• Inheritance is disabled for the subfolder, so it does not inherit access permissions from the parent folder.

You can contact the administrator or file owner to check your actual permissions for the file.
