How to Create a Volume?
In FygoOS, the system is installed on a single hard drive. The remaining space on the system drive, excluding the system partition, can be used to create a volume. You can combine one or more hard drives into a volume, create folders in it, and install apps there. Both internal and external drives can be used to create volumes and RAID arrays.
You can create and manage volumes via the web interface or the app. The following instructions use the web interface as an example.
Create a Volume
Log in with an administrator account, open System Settings > Storage from the desktop, and click Create Volume.

1. Select File System
FygoOS supports three mainstream NAS file systems: ext4, Btrfs, and ZFS. Choose the file system that best fits your usage needs and hardware performance.

2. Select Hard Drives
Select one or more hard drives on the left side of the page to create the volume.

Note:
- Hard drives of different types, interface protocols, connection methods, or logical sector sizes cannot be used together in the same volume.
- The remaining capacity of the system drive, excluding the system partition, can be used to create a standalone volume, but it cannot be used to form a RAID array or expanded later.
- The read/write speed of external hard drives is limited by the interface.
- Before using external hard drives, ensure the connection is secure to avoid storage issues caused by loose connections.
3. Select Storage Mode
Based on the selected file system and number of hard drives, the right side of the page will dynamically display the available storage modes. After selecting a storage mode, you can confirm the estimated capacity of the volume at the bottom of the dialog. Click Next after confirming.

4. Set Who Can Use This Volume
All administrator users have permission to use all volumes. By default, no capacity quota is set for administrators on this volume.
For regular users, you can choose which users are allowed to use this volume and optionally set a capacity quota for each user.
To modify these settings later, go to User Management > Select User > Storage > Edit.
Click Next after confirming.

5. Confirm Details
You can optionally add a volume description as a note about the volume's purpose. You can also choose to automatically run a drive read/write test after the volume is created. Click Create after confirming.

6. Confirm Formatting
The hard drives used to create the volume will be formatted, and all data will be deleted. Enter the administrator password for final confirmation.
