FAQ
1. Cannot Connect to a New Device
Fygo Sync uses HTTPS connections by default. Therefore, you need to enter the HTTPS port when connecting through an IP address or domain.
If the NAS port has not been changed, Fygo Sync tries to connect through the system default port 5667 when you use an IP address without entering a port number.
2. Task Status Error / Account Error
There are currently two main causes of these issues.
NAS Connection Issues
If the NAS is shut down, the HTTPS port is changed, or the account password is changed while the task is syncing, the connection between the computer and the NAS device is interrupted and the sync task cannot continue.
In this case, after confirming that the NAS device can be accessed normally, click Edit to update the connection method for this NAS and authorize again.
File Change Issues
During file synchronization, deleting, moving, or renaming files or sync folders on either the computer or NAS side may cause abnormalities.
After confirming that the folders on both the computer and NAS are normal, click Restore to restart the task. File synchronization starts again.
3. Transfer Item Count Does Not Match File Count
-
If the source of the sync task contains multiple subfolders, the destination must also create corresponding subfolders. In this case, folder creation is also counted as a sync event, so the displayed number of transferred items can be greater than the actual number of files.
-
If files on the computer are set to hidden, those files are not synced. This can also cause the number of files on the NAS after syncing to be smaller than the number on the computer. If you need to sync them, unhide the files first.
4. Conflict Copy Files Appear on the Computer
This usually happens in three situations:
- Multiple users edit and save the same file at the same time
- The file is being used on another device, for editing or preview
- Changes are made without using the latest version of the file
When a conflict occurs, the file is renamed to include the editor's username, the words "Conflict Copy", and the save time.
Conflict copies can appear for any file type. Conflict copies are not uploaded to the NAS.
Recommended solution: compare the contents of the two versions and merge them manually.
5. Files on the Computer Are Not Being Synced
Because of operating system limitations, Fygo Sync cannot monitor files that are being used by other applications.
In this case, close the application that is using the file, and the file can then be synced.
6. Can Existing Sync Tasks Be Edited?
Existing sync tasks can be edited when they are not syncing. You can edit the sync mode, file filter rules, and NAS connection method.
However, changing the sync folder path on the computer or NAS is not supported.
