FAQ
1. Unable to Discover the Target
- Verify that the IP address and port are configured correctly. Pay special attention to whether the port has been changed.
- Verify that the iSCSI Manager app on the NAS is enabled and running properly.
- The Windows firewall may be blocking the iSCSI service. Configure the firewall policy to allow port 3260.
2. Target Discovered but Cannot Connect
Verify whether CHAP is enabled on the Target and whether the CHAP password has been entered correctly.
If Mutual CHAP is selected, make sure it is also enabled and properly configured on the Initiator.
3. Connected to Target but LUN Not Found
Verify that the LUN permission is not set to No Access.
4. Deleting Files on PC Does Not Free LUN Space
Regardless of whether Thick Provisioning or Thin Provisioning is used, once files are stored, the storage space occupied by the LUN will not be released when files are deleted.
5. Cannot Directly View Files in a LUN on the NAS
A LUN is a block device and will be formatted by Windows or macOS into their respective file systems. The NAS cannot directly recognize its file system.
