  • How to Remotely Access Your Fygo NAS?

    This article introduces how to securely access your Fygo NAS remotely. FygoOS offers multiple remote access methods, including direct public IP connection, FygoConnect remote access service, DDNS domain forwarding, and P2P.

    Method 1: Direct Public IP Connection

    You can request a public IP from your ISP and configure port forwarding on your router. Then simply enter the public IPv4 or IPv6 address along with the port number in a web browser or the Fygo App to access your NAS.

    Note:

    • The default HTTP port for FygoOS is 5666, and the HTTPS port is 5667;
    • If port forwarding is configured, you must append the port number to the access address to correctly reach your Fygo NAS;
    • Direct public IP connection offers full network speed without loss, but it lacks a security certificate. HTTP access transmits data in plaintext, so please only use it in a secure network environment.

    Method 2: Configure DDNS Domain and Certificate

    The DDNS service automatically updates the outbound IP of your Fygo NAS at regular intervals and maps it to a domain name, allowing you to easily access your Fygo NAS via the domain. On top of that, configuring an SSL certificate for the domain enables secure HTTPS access to your Fygo NAS.

    Note:

    • You need to purchase and configure a domain name and certificate;
    • Fygo supports DDNS services from the following providers: Alibaba Cloud, ChangelP.com, Cloudflare, DNSPod.com, Duck DNS, DynDNS, Dynu.com, FreeDNS, and No-IP.com;
    • Configuring DDNS with a domain and certificate is recommended for full-speed and secure access.

    Method 3: FygoConnect Remote Access Service

    FygoConnect is a remote access service developed by Fygo, providing secure and efficient remote access to your Fygo NAS. To use this service, you need to create a unique Fygo ID to identify your Fygo NAS device and quickly access your Fygo NAS.

    Note:

    • To use FygoConnect, you will be required to register or log in with a Fygo account. To learn more about Fygo accounts, please refer to this article;
    • FygoConnect will create a unique subdomain SSL certificate corresponding to your Fygo NAS's Fygo ID, enabling secure access to your Fygo NAS;
    • FygoConnect will evaluate your current network environment and automatically select the optimal connection method. If direct public IP connection is available, you can choose whether to use it on the web;
    • The FygoConnect relay service incurs traffic costs, so there will be speed limits.

    Method 4: Client P2P Connection

    Using the Fygo App with FygoConnect enabled, if IPv6 connectivity is available on your network, the app will automatically switch to a P2P direct connection to your Fygo NAS.

    Note:

    • Under P2P connection, the connection may fall back to relay forwarding due to network instability.
    • P2P connection does not go through Fygo servers. Instead, the Fygo NAS device communicates directly with the mobile client via encryption, making it secure with no speed limits.
