  • Troubleshooting System Installation Issues

Due to the complexity of devices and environments, you may encounter failures when installing FygoOS. Below are common issues and their solutions:

    1. Installation succeeds, but no boot after restart

Please disable Secure Boot. Refer to "1. How to Disable Secure Boot?" below. If the installation and runtime are on different machines, ensure both use the same boot mode (both UEFI or both BIOS).

    2. Installation succeeds, but kernel hangs on a black screen with white text after restart

This is most likely caused by hardware that is too old or too new, resulting in missing firmware when loading drivers.

    3. No boot during installation

Check that the bootable USB drive was created correctly and that the BIOS is set to boot from the USB drive.

    4. Installation stalls, or shows Grub installation failure or Mount Envi installation failure

Try restarting the machine and reinstalling a few times. If the issue persists, it may be a motherboard or hard drive problem.

    5. Installation boot hangs on a black screen with white text, showing Start Init or Preparing device environment

Try restarting and selecting Rescuing Install mode from the Grub menu. Refer to "2. How to Use Rescuing Install Mode?" below.

If you encounter other issues, feel free to join the user community for feedback and discussion.

    2. How to Use Rescuing Install Mode?

    1. Restart the device and quickly press the keyboard hotkey during boot to enter the boot device selection screen. Select the bootable drive and press Enter.
    2. Select Rescuing Install (emergency installation mode) and press Enter.

Note: For compatibility reasons, Rescuing Install mode currently uses MBR partition format. This format does not support hard drives larger than approximately 2 TB as the system drive. If the selected system drive is too large, the installation will show a "Failed to create partition" error. In this case, switch the boot mode to UEFI in the BIOS.
